HEADLINE:
PRYING TIME - SIMONE LAHBIB; TESSA TALKING
BODY:
SIMONE Lahbib has appeared in countless dramas including Monarch of
the Glen, which starts filming again next spring. She is also due
to be seen in the romantic comedy Heartless with Angus Deayton. Simone
is married to producer Mel De Grouttola (a slight mix up here? SL
Net) and lives in London.
MESSAGE
SCENT I am wearing Clinique's Simply. I love its scent, which
is a little grapefruity.
CLOTHES
ENCOUNTERS At Top Shop, you can mix a designer label and
one of their pieces together. I like the Italian designer Roberto
Cavalli . . . his designs are sexy and feminine, especially the dress
I wore to the Scottish Baftas.
STEPPING
ON THE GAS My husband and I adore classic cars and right
now we have a Porsche 912 in slate grey . . . very cool and a great
drive.
PUMP
UP THE VOLUME Keane are great. But my brother is in a band
called Maker and he wrote the music for a short film of mine. I do
love Coldplay and Travis too.
FED
UP My favourite place is my mother-inlaw's house. She is
the most fabulous cook and it's great to go round for dinner. Being
Italian, she makes great pasta with fresh seafood and lots of garlic
. . . very Southern Italian. When we are back in Glasgow, we always
go to the Ubiquitous Chip.
FREEZE
FRAME Meryl Streep is absolutely amazing. As for men Paul
Newman is fantastic and the older he gets the better. He just has
such depth.
HOT
LINES The only thing I get time to read are scripts and right
now I am reading one for a new film project in which I have a small
part in called Red Mercury Rising.
It stars
Juliet Stevenson and Stockard Channing . . . a Working Title film.
We actually start filming this week, which is exciting. The book I
last read was Perfume by Patrick Suskind.
