Will stuborn Isobel ever admit that she has feeling for Paul?
Ever since former
city girl Isobel Anderson moved to Glenbogle, sparks have been flying
between her and Paul, laird of the estate.
They have a real love-hate relationship, but its obvious that they
fancy each other - they even had a brief kiss the other week.
So, as its the end of the series, will Paul and Isobel admit their
feelings?
"It's been a real 'will they wont they?'", admits Simone
Lahbib, 39, who plays the pretty farmer. "I'm sure people have
been thinking 'just hurry up and get together!'"
But now Paul's seeing Lucy.
"Isobels stubborn and proud of herself for denying any feelings
for Paul - more fool her really! But theres a lot of tension between
the and theres a kind of love triangle going on in the last episode
- or maybe even a love square, as Chester is chasing after Isobel,
too".
Will Isobel finally give into her feelings before its too late? Or
will she fall for Chester's charms instead?
"You'll have to wait and see!" she smiles. "But theres
a lovely ending to look out for".
Simone, who before Monarch was best known for playing governor Helen
Stewart in Bad Girls, admits she was a little nervous when she joined
the series.
"When I arrived, I didn't know what to expect, especially with
such a well established show," says Simone, whos currently filming
a new ITV1 romantic comedy called Heartless, with Angus Deayton. "You
wonder if people will accept your new character, but i'm really happy
that Isobel's just slotted in".
Filming meant a welcome return to Scotland for the Stirling-born actress,
who lives in London with her actor husband Raffaello Degruttola.
"Its been so nice working in Scotland" says Simone. "In
fact the whole experiance has been wonderful. Theres a fantastic atmosphere
on set. One day, there was a scene which involved everyone getting
dressed up, kilts and all. I was in the make-up room and saw Tom Baker,
who plays Donald, wearing a kilt.
I said "You look amazing! Lets get a picture of us together".
So we had the photo taken and, as I walked away, his kilt came flying
down, and there he was standing in his shirt and pants! It was hilarious!"
So, if Paul and Isobel do get together, does Simone think her character
would enjoy the luxury at Glenbogle House?
"Well, I've had a good snoop around and its very grand"
she smiles. "You know, I think Isobel could be very at home there".
